KLC, also known as Craig Stephen Lawson, is an American music producer from New Orleans, Louisiana. Born on July 23, 1969, he is best known for being one of the founders of No Limit Records music label, alongside famous rapper Master P. His sound, influenced by funk and soul, is a major component of No Limit's unique style during the 1990s.
KLC played a crucial role in the development of the "Southern hip-hop" sound, particularly the Dirty South subgenre. He has produced hits for important hip-hop artists such as Snoop Dogg, Mystikal, and Xzibit. Among his most famous productions are "Down For My N's" by Snoop Dogg and C-Murder, as well as "Make 'Em Say Uhh!" by Master P.
