Technotronic is a Belgian music group that achieved international success with their single "Pump Up the Jam", released in 1989. The group was comprised of Jo Bogaert (aka Thomas De Quincey) and Marc Moulin. They were later joined by Marisa Liz for their second album, "Body to Body".
Their music is a fusion of hip-hop, disco, and house, and they were one of the first groups to popularize the techno genre. "Pump Up the Jam" was a huge hit, reaching number one on the charts in several countries, and their second single, "Get Up (Before the Night Is Over)", also saw some success.
After releasing two albums, Technotronic took a break in 1992, with Bogaert pursuing a solo career under the name Thomas De Quincey. Moulin, on the other hand, returned to his jazz and production activities. The group reunited in 2006 for a European tour, and released a new album, "Retro", in 2007.
