Andy Jay Powell is a German trance music producer and DJ, born on June 11, 1968, in Frankfurt am Main. He is known for being one of the founding members of the trance group ATB. Powell began his musical career playing guitar in several German rock bands, before turning to dance music production in the 1990s. He founded ATB with producer and DJ André Tanneberger in 1998, and the group released their first album, Movin' Melodies, in 1999. ATB went on to achieve international success with the albums Two Worlds (2000) and No Silence (2004), but Powell left the group in 2007 to focus on his solo career. He released his first solo album, Electric Nights, in 2009, and has since put out several other albums and singles. Powell is also known for his remixes of songs by various artists, including Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias, and Lady Gaga.
