Clark Owen is an American classical and contemporary music artist. Born in Los Angeles, California, in 1966, Owen studied composition and piano at the University of Southern California before pursuing his studies at the University of California, Berkeley, where he obtained his doctorate in musical composition in 1991. He then taught composition and piano at the University of Southern California before dedicating himself fully to his career as a composer. In 1995, Owen received the prestigious Guggenheim Fellowship, which allowed him to focus on his composition. Since then, he has created numerous works for piano, orchestra, chamber music, and contemporary ensembles. His compositions have been performed worldwide by renowned orchestras such as the Los Angeles Symphony Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the San Francisco Symphony, the New York Philharmonic, and the London Symphony Orchestra. Owen currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and two children.
