BIOGRAPHY
Ellen Weller is a classical contemporary pianist and composer. Born in Germany in 1965 and raised in California, she studied music at the University of California, Berkeley, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. In 1991, she obtained her doctorate in music at the University of California, Davis.
After her studies, Ellen Weller taught music at the University of California, Berkeley, and was a faculty member at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. In 2001, she joined the faculty at the Berkeley Conservatory of Music.
Ellen Weller is known for her virtuoso piano skills and compositions that combine elements of classical and contemporary music. She has written numerous works for piano, as well as pieces for orchestra and choir. Her compositions have been performed by prestigious orchestras such as the San Francisco Symphony, the San Francisco Opera, and the Berkeley Symphony.
