Sick Individuals est un duo de DJs et producteurs néerlandais formé en 2009 par Joep Smeele et Rinze "RIVERO" Hofstede. Le duo s'est fait connaître avec leur single "Running Away" en 2013, qui a atteint le Top 40 des charts néerlandais. Ils ont ensuite signé avec le label américain Dim Mak Records et ont sorti plusieurs singles sur le label, dont "Lost & Found" et "Skyline". En 2016, ils ont signé avec le label allemand Kontor Records et ont sorti leur single "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". Leur single "I Could Be the One" avec Avicii a atteint le Top 10 des charts en Australie, Canada, Irlande, Pays-Bas, Nouvelle-Zélande, Suède et Royaume-Uni. En 2017, ils ont sorti le single "Made for This" avec KSHMR.
